World over, public procurement is recognised as a strategic tool for achieving developmental, social and environmental objectives of governments. In India it is not only used for smooth operations of government agencies and departments but also utilised as a tool for promoting and sustaining economic growth. In order to achieve the broad objectives targeted through huge government expenditure on procurement, it is necessary to monitor the effectiveness of the procurement process. In procurement, contracts are of paramount importance as they establish framework for procurement process, outlining the rights and obligations of each party, the scope of work and other key aspects. Contracts in procurement help ensure transparency, fairness and efficiency in the procurement process, while also mitigating risks and providing a mechanism for dispute resolution.

To realise the effectiveness of the procurement process capacity development and training regarding the nuances of Procurement becomes important at all levels across different departments. With this background, AIMA with the technical support of The World Bank announces a comprehensive capacity building programme aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge of professionals engaged in procurement at state and district levels.

Mode and Methodology of training

The programme oers in person sessions with direct interaction with experts. It includes interactive case study analysis and group exercises featuring real life examples from diverse sectors. Participants engage in role play exercises to enhance problem solving skills and explore innovative evaluation and dispute resolution methods.
