All India Management Association (AIMA) Vice Chancellors Council presents the second two-day specially designed training programme for Higher Educational Professionals, after the overwhelming success of the first training in 2021.
Leadership and Management skills are much needed by anchors of higher education professionals to manage transformative changes and disruptions taking place in the higher education landscape. Leadership roles in higher education require skills beyond the core competence based on academic qualification and area of expertise. HODs, chair of disciplines and senior faculty also plays an important role as a manager and a leader. AIMA’s training program is designed to provide management and leadership skills to navigate the complexity of higher education eco-system, which is disrupted by technology and post pandemic trends in a highly dynamic global environment. The training will help develop building a culture of agility and innovation and it will provide hands on learning to be effective in leading self, systems, teams, and understanding emerging technologies in higher education.
Leadership development journey starts with being able to lead yourself first. The training programme will help participants learn techniques to be the leader they would like to be, develop culture of creativity and inclusive growth of people and the institution. The training will also equip the learners with the understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and scope of its implementation in Higher Education.
The training content will cover four sections:
A. Leading Self
B. Leading System
C. Leading Teams
D. Leading Technology
Since this programme is for senior academic leaders, the pedagogy will be on case discussion, group work / exercises. Narrative building will also be used. It will be effort of the expert resources to get participants to critically think and apply ideas in their institution context.
Academic & Administrative Heads of Higher Education Institutions, Universities, including the Presidents, Chancellors, Provosts, Vice Chancellors, Deans & Directors, Head of the Departments, Departmental Chairs, Head of Admissions, Controller of Examination, Finance Head, and other functional heads, and senior faculty members. The training will help all those involved in academic and institutional governance.
The higher education landscape is evolving dramatically. On one hand India is focusing on increased Gross Enrolment Rate and on the other addressing the disruption issues. Your views on the issues related are invited through the platform of AIMA’s Vice Chancellors Council. All India Management Association (AIMA) as the national apex body for the management profession in India has played a catalytic role in the evolution of a new management ethos since its inception in 1957 and has also been at the forefront of development of management education, bridging the gap between the industry and academia through its various programmes and initiatives. When the world was struggling to deal with challenges posed by the pandemic, AIMA took a lead in translating challenges into opportunities for management education by setting up AIMA’s Vice Chancellors Council (VCC). The VCC discusses measures to promote global quality standards for the management education and become the catalyst for changes in management education which can live-up to global expectations. The VCC members are engaged in various discussions on Academic Reform, Flexibility in Education system, Assessment reforms, Systemic Reform, Research, Regulatory Reforms, Financing Needs, and many other areas of relevance to higher education in general and management education in particular.
