As the centre of gravity shifts towards Asia, there is a need to examine how women leaders in contemporary Asia lead, engage and inspire.
From China to India and Japan to Thailand, How Women Work observes women leaders through a pan-Asian lens, addressing questions such as: Are the rules that define women leaders in Asia unique from those in the West? How are women leaders perceived across Asia and what ways of managing and leading work in different Asian countries? What are the cultural barriers and biases that women managers grapple with? How is ambition displayed and aspiration cloaked? How have successful women leaders navigated these aspects?
This book is a fascinating and thorough exploration of the factors that determine the success of the modern emerging women in Asia.
Aarti Kelshikar is an intercultural coach and author. She is the founder of 3A Consulting and has been working in the space of leadership and cultural effectiveness since 2008.
