AIMA organised its 6th National Leadership Conclave on 19-20 April 2021 online on a specially curated digital platform. The theme for the Conclave was ‘The Big Disruption: Leadership in the post- Covid world’. Mr Sunil Kant Munjal, Past President, AIMA and Chairman, Hero Enterprise and Mr Sanjiv Goneka, Chairman, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group were the Conclave Co-Chairs. The two-day conclave was addressed by iconic leaders, policymakers, global thought leaders and eminent speakers. Mr Harsh Pati Singhania, President, AIMA & Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JK Paper Ltd delivered the welcome address. Mr Sunil Kant Munjal conducted the conversation with Dr S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, Government of India and Mr Sanjiv Goenka introduced the minister.
Dr Jaishankar said that there was a lot of business to be done by India with each of the QUAD countries, and there would be others too, including the UK, France and the EU. "By and large, the world trusts us, and it is time for us to step up," he said, adding that India is a good platform for global production. He also added that the pandemic was a wake-up call for India to change its development and business models advocating Atmanirbhar Bharat which was employment centric providing more capacity and more possibilities.
Mr Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons who has written the book 'Bridgital Nation: Solving Technology's People Problem', said that India's two biggest problems were access to resources and jobs, and technology could solve both the problems. He had a fireside chat with Mr Vikram Chandra Founder, Editorji Technologies. Mr Harsh Pati Singhania introduced the session.

This year’s online conclave was very well received with participants joining the proceedings. Live streaming on AIMA’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter channels also increased viewership by several thousand which crossed over views on all platforms.

AIMA held its 5th National Leadership Conclave (NLC) on 9th April 2019 on the theme ‘Now or Never: India’s Mission for the New Decade’ at New Delhi. Mr Sunil Kant Munjal Chairman, Hero Enterprise was the Co-Chairman of the Conclave. Mr Harshavardhan Neotia, President, AIMA and Chairman, Ambuja Neotia Group; informed the audience that MSMEs are the lifeline of the economy as they contribute towards the GDP, and more importantly, towards jobs.
“It is possible to achieve higher economic growth briefly by pumping capital into more productive machines. The best solution to make jobs more accessible is to make entrepreneurship less painful. It's important to leave some room for the small enterprises to grow," said Neotia.
Mr Sanjay Kirloskar, Senior Vice President, AIMA and Chairman & Managing Director, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd., addressed the opening session. He spoke about the potential performance of the nation vis-a-vis digitisation, education and healthcare In her welcome address, Ms Rekha Sethi, DG, AIMA, familiarised the audience with the day's agenda.
On the occasion, the AIMA-Dr. J S Juneja Award for Creativity and Innovation for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises was presented to Sundaram R, Managing Director and CEO, Aerospace Engineers Private Limited. In addition, AIMA-KPMG report on 'Social and Economic Impact of Digital Transformation in India' was also released.
In a special session, Rajat Gupta, Management Expert, Author and Former Managing Director, McKinsey & Co, shared his life, experiences and learning.
